What is hypochlorous acid (HOCL), and why is it so effective?
Hypochlorous acid is a naturally occurring molecule produced by white blood cells to fight infection and inflammation. Ultrapure® HOCL mimics this process using patented technology to deliver 99.99% pure, stable HOCL with powerful antimicrobial properties.
Why is HOCL more effective than bleach for sanitising?
HOCL is up to 100x more effective than bleach at killing pathogens, yet it’s non-toxic, non-corrosive, and safe for humans, pets, and the environment. It neutralizes bacteria, viruses, and fungi without harmful residues.
What does HOCL stand for?
HOCL stands for Hypochlorous Acid, a natural antimicrobial agent produced by your immune system.
Why is pH optimization important in HOCL products?
The effectiveness of HOCL depends heavily on pH and purity. Ultrapure® HOCL is pH-optimized to ensure maximum antimicrobial power while remaining gentle and non-irritating for skin, eyes, and mucous membranes.
Is HOCL safe for skin and aesthetic use?
Yes. It’s incredibly gentle, non-toxic, and perfect for post-procedure recovery. HOCL calms inflammation, supports healing, reduces redness, and supports barrier repair. That’s why it’s the star ingredient in our Aesthetic Range.
Can I use the same Ultrapure® HOCL products for both people and pets?
Our Veterinary and Medical ranges are both powered by the same science, but formulated for specific use cases. Always choose the right product based on the intended application.
Can Ultrapure® HOCL products be used on children and newborns?
Yes – our Medical Range is safe for use on children and newborns. Ultrapure® HOCL is alcohol-free, non-toxic, and non-irritating, making it suitable for delicate skin and sensitive areas.
What if my child accidentally ingests Ultrapure® HOCL products?
Ultrapure® HOCL is made from pure, stable hypochlorous acid (HOCL) and is non-toxic. Small, accidental ingestion is generally not harmful and should not cause adverse effects. However, as with any non-food product, we recommend keeping it out of reach of children.
What if my animal licks or ingests Ultra Pure® HOCL Veterinary products?
Ultrapure® HOCL Veterinary products are non-toxic and safe if licked or ingested in small amounts during normal use. There are no harmful chemicals, alcohol, or antibiotics in the formulation, making it safe for use on areas animals can reach, such as paws, wounds, or skin folds. If large quantities are ingested, consult your veterinarian.
How is Ultrapure® HOCL different from other HOCL products on the market?
Our patented process ensures 99.99% purity without salt or contaminants. Unlike “anolyte”, saline/salt-based HOCL companies or neutral pH competitors, Ultrapure® HOCL is proven for efficacy, stability, and safety across medical, aesthetic, and veterinary applications.
How is HOCL different from saline for wound cleansing?
Saline only rinses an area. HOCL actively destroys pathogens while also reducing inflammation and supporting healing.
